Rank: The ranking range is given for Dangerous Journey's statistics. These rankings increase exponentially in scale. Someone with a 40 SPPow does not have double the psychic power of someone with a 20, but likely much more. The ranks were given in ranges to help select the most appropriate conversion value.
Examples: Some examples are admittedly obscure. But, given the limitations of my science fiction knowledge, I'm guessing that if I've heard of the example, most other people have as well. The examples given are highly selective. They do not necessarily represent all of the Traits's Categories or Attributes. "Rain Man", as an example of the maximum human potential for Mental, is limited only to his MMSpd, for example. King Kong has a 75 PMCap, but does not have a 75 PNCap. In many cases, two examples were provided to show examples of each Category.
Marvel Equivalent: The equivalent Marvel ranking is given. Although Marvel rankings do extend beyond 100, at this point the Maximus system will not attempt to numerically quantify those values. For levels beyond 100, the "effective vs. actual" multipliers are suggested. If that does not apply or is insufficient, numeric resolution is not recommended.
In their attributes, the values can exceed 100 quite readily. This is a representation of certain realities with respect to relative quantifiable attribute scores while maintaining a common basis for determining an "effective" value. In other words, a dragon and bear might have equivalent "effective" PN values, but it would not be realistic to give them the same attribute scores because then the P Trait for the dragon would only be larger than the bear's insofar as the dragon's PM is greater. A mechanism for inflating attribute scores to reflect the quantifiable capacity to sustain damage in a certain area has been devised. If a dragon is 10 times the size of the bear, then its PN attributes are multiplied by 10 to determine the PN scores, while the inflated PN scores divided by 10 would remain the "effective" PN values. For cases such as this, in the physical sense, the size of the creature is used as a general guideline. Conceivably, the same could be done for Mental and Spiritual. For instance, a robot with many levels of redundant programming might have its MR determined by the sophistication of the programming at the most advanced level. However, the MR might be inflated if one considers the possibility that the programming could be attacked/damaged and the redundancy in the programming would compensate (much like the organic sense). In other words, an AI program could have equivalent reasoning to me, but an attack on both the AI's programming and my own reasoning might destroy my mental faculties while only scratching the surface of the many redundant programming routines of the AI system. The same could work for Spirituality, as in the case of a single component of a collective soul.
For each of these cases, however, it should be noted that a Psychogenic Power could also simulate this effect. This depends on the nature of the being and its powers.
For practical purposes, the PMSpd and PNSpd of HPs created should be properly modified in cases where it is larger than normal human size.
